Kiln 22 · loaded 14 August 2026 · opened 17 August 2026

3 days. 1 ton of pine. One opening.

We stoked heavier than usual through the second night. The flame path ran straight across the middle shelves and left a hard line of colour on everything in its way.

The kiln, position by position

Nothing about a wood firing is even. Where a piece stands decides how much ash lands on it and how long the flame touches it. This is where ours stood.
